What To Expect

Booking a session with S.Morgan Photography?
What Should You Expect
When you book with me, you’re not just booking a photographer — you’re booking someone who cares deeply about how you feel throughout the entire process.
Let’s walk through the experience so you feel confident, prepared, and excited from start to finish.

From Inquiry to Gallery:
The S.Morgan Experince

Step 1 - Explore and Get Inspired✨
You found your way to S.Morgan Photography — welcome! Take some time to explore the website where you can browse galleries, read client reviews, learn a little about me, and see the different session types I offer. This is your chance to get inspired, imagine what your own session could look like, and make sure my style feels like the right fit for you.
Step 2 - Book & Plan The Magic✨
Once you’re ready, you’ll book your session directly through my online booking site. You’ll complete a short questionnaire, sign your contract, and secure your date with a reservation retainer. Sessions are divided into a non-refundable retainer and a remaining balance, which can be paid in partial payments leading up to your session date.
(Elopement and wedding processes may vary slightly.)
Once your contract is signed and your retainer is received, you’re officially booked! I’ll personally reach out so we can begin planning. We’ll talk through locations, vision, vibes, and any special ideas you have so I can bring your session to life.
From outfit guidance and best time-of-day recommendations to studio rental options and thoughtful details that elevate your experience — I’ll guide you every step of the way.
Step 3 - Session Day! Create, Move,
Have Fun!✨
This is where the magic happens. During your session, expect movement, variety, and creativity. I’m constantly shifting locations, angles, poses, and backgrounds to give you a wide range of images and moments to love. My goal is for you to walk away with a gallery full of options that truly feel like you.
I always encourage you to speak up if there’s a pose, idea, or moment you’d love to capture. Collaboration is part of the fun, and your input is always welcome. I never want you leaving your session thinking, “I wish we would’ve done that.”
Step 4 - Editing, Sneak Peeks, & Gallery Delivery✨
Your full gallery will be delivered within 3–4 weeks, as I carefully edit each image. Sneak peeks are typically shared within 24–48 hours after your session (timing may vary slightly during busy seasons or holidays).
Your final gallery will be delivered via a private online link where you can download, save, share, and print your images however you’d like. The only thing I ask is that if you post your images on social media, you tag my Instagram or Facebook — I love seeing which photos you’re obsessed with and celebrating your session alongside you!
S. Morgan Photography is fully licensed and insured — so your venue, vendors, and moments are handled with professionalism and care from start to finish.

FAQ

1. How far in advance should I book and what's required to reserve my date?

Bookings for 2026 and 2027 are officially open! To lock in your session date, you’ll complete a contract, a short questionnaire based on your session type, and submit a non-refundable retainer. Once everything is complete, your date and time are officially reserved.

2. Can I bring ideas, personal items, or inspiration to my session?

Absolutely! Your session time (30 minutes or one hour, depending on what you booked) is your time — feel free to bring personal items, props, or inspiration that reflects you. Pinterest boards are always welcome for reference, just keep in mind that those images are other photographers’ work. I’ll use them as inspiration and create something uniquely yours, which may be captured or edited a little differently.

3. How do reschedules or cancellations work?

Life happens — just let me know as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel. I’ll do my best to find the next available time that works for both of us (and the studio, if your session requires one — additional studio fees may apply).
If you cancel with notice, any remaining balance will be refunded (retainer is non-refundable). Last-minute cancellations or no-shows are not eligible for refunds.

4. How many images should I expect to receive back from my session?

I don’t believe in limiting galleries — if there’s a beautiful moment, you deserve to have it. Each session includes a minimum number of images so you know what to expect, but I often deliver extra because every client connects with different photos.

5. I'm nervous/awkward in front of cameras - will you help me pose?

Absolutely! As Ursula would say, “It’s what I do — it’s what I live for.” I’ll guide you through poses, prompts, and movement so you feel relaxed, confident, and fully yourself — creating images that make you say, “I can’t believe that’s me!”

6. What should I wear and how do I prepare for my session?

Wear something that feels comfortable, confident, and true to you — easy to move in and free of large logos or busy patterns. Choose walkable shoes, remove hair ties and watches before your session, and avoid overly tight or baggy clothing. Fresh hair, nails, or a tan can be a fun confidence boost but are never required. And if you’re wearing something light or delicate, maybe save the coffee until after we make magic. 😉
